Govt. is implementing new schemes to support Akshay Urja Shops

287 new shops are going to be set up and each and every district all  over the country will have such shops

On 1s March Minister of New and Renewable Energy Resources Dr. Farooq Abdullah in Lok Sabha made important announcements regarding Akshay Urja Shops and Aditya Urja Shops in order to provide support and promotion to such shops for their uplift. To increase the no. of Akshay Urja Shops and Aditya Urja Shops and make it easily reachable to consumers, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Resources is going to set up Akshay Urja Shops in all districts all over the country.

Sanction is been accorded for setting up 287 Akshay Urja Shops besides 113 Aditya Urja Shops. For supporting them financially scheme is provided to them as recurring grant and incentive linked with turn-over for operation of the shops, for a period of two years. Prior to 2005-06, the scheme was being implemented since 1995 for setting up Aditya Solar Shops. Along with this the State Nodal Agencies are provided support for undertaking publicity of the shops, so that more people get familiar to such shops.

The Aditya Solar Shops and  Akshay Urja Shops are selling renewable energy products, establishing projects and systems and are providing services to the citizen. They also provide repairs and services of renewable energy devices; they encourage and facilitate individuals and companies to go for renewable energy devices.
